Welcome to iTartan – a utility that lets you design a tartan (plaid) and also view over 2350 existing designs, from which new designs can be derived.

Your own designs can be derived from these pre-defined designs, or you can begin with a blank canvas.

The designer makes it easy to create or change a design by allowing you to add/remove threadcounts as well as re-ordering them to achieve a new design.

During the design process you can continually see the design rendered as it evolves. You can save the designs and re-edit them later.

Tartans are not limited to Scotland, being widely used throughout the world, including America and Canada.
